It is a great honor and responsibility for a documentary filmmaker to be allowed into the world of their subject and to be trusted to tell their story with due integrity. Throughout the year, Believe EPs, Luke Thornton and Liz Silver have traveled to the Pine Ridge Reservation of the South Dakota badlands with German directing duo Shooting Monkeys. The Believe-produced documentary centers around the life of Godfrey Chipps, a medicine man and fourth-generation descendent of Horn Chipp, the medicine man of Crazy Horse. Now in post-production, the project is synonymous with Believe’s gut-driven desire to make films driven by substance.
